I was going to buy this kit,but after looking at yours there is no way on earth I could do it justice
Your model needs to be in an art gallery.

Simply said: Breath-taking build.
If I were Miniart I'd buy your photos to use them as reference and marketing material... Stunning. Congratulations!
cheers,
Zsolt
(btw somebody mentioned earlier that your build inspires and wakes up an instinct to buy this kit as soon as possible another good point to contact Miniart's marketing department )

The first week of 2017 gives a very productive, almost to the end completed Miniart Su-85.
But as usual, according to the law of meanness, I got sick, depriving themselves of the opportunity to buy the normal tools for sculpting that would sculpt bedroll, and buy one more little thing. What-you'll see later.
As usual - a collective image of vehicle.
Replaced handles and handrails on the wire, leaving Miniart mounting, modified mounting shovel. Remade welds on the crew compartment. Cables - had to weave the wire. Barrel - ModelPoint, took reface barrel fixing, that would normally insert it. Boxes of spare parts - a copy Voyager of the company's "Mir Modeley".
Barrels, boxes - Miniart. The canister also Miniart. Kitbag - Tamiya, a bucket and a suitcase - scratchbuild.
And yes, I sealed interior. Tightly.
Something like that.
P.S. Very cool made Miniart tracks, excellent detail!

Beautiful work Dmitrii! I'm working on the old dragon su-85M and after seeing your amazing work here I'm ready to buy this kit!!
Look forward to seeing how you finish this one. Seems like you have a diorama or vignette plan for this, no?

SU-85 from Miniart - building model is finished!
Actually, it was not so difficult to see where go on MB bicycle.
Besides him, the bottle in a box (MiniArt), etched tools, and I sculpted bedroll and put it on the shelf (pictured just moved out, and seems to hang in the air). Only a very strange behaved material during drying relief somehow "forced" back, and began to seem a little soap-effect at full drying. But I tried.
Maybe add a couple of small things, I do not know, we'll see. But in general all.
And now the model is closed, so as not to catch the dust in the air, and I will proceed to the base. From MiniArt. So help me putty!
So figure out what near the SPG in the photo - Stalingrad.

So, the first experience of sculpture and deep conversion figures.
Carcass - the commander of a set of Soviet infantry Miniart (35108).
The starting idea was to transform the ordinary infantry officer in command of a platoon of stormtroopers scouts. Instead of the usual breeches made from captured German bilateral pants set. The material made by Tamiya Epoxy Putty. According to plastic figure cut through the relief, sometimes slightly modified folds. PPS and pouch - Miniart 35154. Head in Kuban cap of the old set of Alanger, was also slightly modified with a knife.
In general, I liked to sculpt, but really want to critique, so go ahead and gentlemen!
Even before priming figure I'll do a normal belt for PPS, and add buttons on his pants, forget about them. The arms and head are fixed to the drop of glue that it was possible to remove them properly for the color.
Overall figure for completion took about 6 hours. There are still 4 fighter.

In general, I assembled without glue "diorama" by MiniArt (36053).
I started to build her a couple of years ago, but did not finish. Laundered paint, disassembly and reassembly of the new, some fun little things and finalized. And abundantly putty. All that is possible - not glued, to the convenience of painting. Every detail, by type of bricks, garbage, glass, and other add much later. The sides of the base, too, will make later.
Some wondered how and where to put the model and figure, in my view, the positioning of interesting, though the devil only knows, must somehow break up the plot of "height" so happy to hear interesting thoughts.
Figures - Stalingrad and sculpted MiniArt (35108), modeling photos laid out yesterday. There are still 4 figures.
In general, while somehow.

The second experience of deep conversion and figure sculpting.
The basis was the submachine figure, from a set of Soviet infantry MiniArt (35108), which is almost at zero was cut everything except the boots.
The result would "change out" a figure in camouflage cloak "Amoeba". Also I tried to sculpt satchel '39 with dangling straps that go to the belt. But during photography fell off right "flap", but he has already set in place. Material - Epoxy Putty from Tamiya. It turned out or not - I still like it.
PPSh with cartridge pouch - MiniArt 35154. helmet, water bottle and the shovel from the same direction. Panzerfaust 60 and Stielhandgranate 43 - something of a Dragon.
In general, I liked to sculpt, but really want to critique, so go ahead gentlemen!
Even before priming figures do normal belts. Hand, head and small things fixed on a drop of glue to be able to remove them properly for painting.
Overall figures for completion took about 10 hours. There are still 3 pieces.

The first photos of painted SU-85.
Initially I wanted to make a very battered car. What is already there - filters, slightly strengthened chiaroscuro with oil, washing and chips. All that worked - in the photo 5. Next, all sorts of streaks and start to do small things.
By the way, about her - so far only saw, tried to do on it NMM, so far satisfied.
In general, as it is so.

Simply beautiful Dmitrii,
I think this is the nearest I’ve seen to a perfect build, so many little details look exactly right. I like everything – just to take one example of many, your painting of the interior walls is just exquisite. A great pity you sealed it up though – I recently completed MiniArt’s SU122 and found that by carefully cutting through the rear deck/panels (keeping the mudguards attached) I could slide it on and off to reveal the interior.
Looking forward to seeing the diorama – your excellent photography is also hi-res perfect too, although is the colour-balance too intense? The green looks very bright, maybe you will fade it when you do the weathering...?
I agree with what someone else has said, MiniArt should be employing you!
Cheers, Tim

Tim, thanks for the kind words!
I do not regret that I can not see anything, what's inside, I believe that the less moving parts, the less likely to break them (=
I specifically wanted to make the color brighter, due to weathering it became darker and deeper, it was my idea.

I continue to make "beaten" in the battles of SU-85 from MiniArt.
Made streak effect of dirt and rust, almost completely worked out little things on the model. All weathering - Ammo by Mig Jimenez.
Just realized that the use of NMM for further weathering not a good idea, if it's not a weapon or some little things.
Now I need to start working on dust and a base for dirt on the body, both vertically and horizontally, add stains of petroleum products and all that. Well, the little things must be finished to the end.
In general, something like this🌚

3 months of work - and SU-85 from #MiniArt is ready!
Actually what can I say - great kit with a full interior (35187).
I replaced the handles and handrails on the wire, leaving the Miniart attachments, finalizing the fastening of the shovel. Remade the welded seams in the cabin. Cables - had to weave itself. Barrel - ModelPoint, it was necessary to re-sharpen the barrel mount, that would normally insert it. Boxes are a copy of Voyager from the "Mir Modeley".
As usual - SPG collective image.
Wooden barrel - Miniart 35550. Toolbox with tools from the same. Instruments - Voyager+Aber.
Box of cognac with bottles - Miniart 35575.
Shell box - Miniart 35079.
Bagbag - Tamiya, Bucket, suitcase and roll - scratch build.
And the bike from MasterBox.
And yes, I glued interior.
Paints - AMMO, weathering - AMMO, oils - AMMO.
Something like this.🌚

Fantastic looking finish to this amazing build! I want a poster of this masterpiece to hang next to my workbench for inspiration!
Your figure conversions look awesome too, look forward to seeing the vignette come together.
