Hi, anyone got any good pics of a DUKW coming ashore on D-Day? I am looking to build one for the Overlord build and want to try to recreate a damatic picture.
Thanks

Something I've always wondered ever sense the 60's when the guy down the road from me that owns the marina, bought a DUKW, I guess from the surplus, but it looked as though it went through a war, like these in the picture, but these just came out of the water, and it looks as though there isn't one piece of straight metal on them, did they make them like that, or how does everyone you see from that era get all bent up. The one here ran but they were afraid to put it in the water, but we used to play with egaging the prop and shifting gears to make the prop go faster, and for its size it sure did have a big prop, as compared to cabin-cruisers, and such.

Thanks guys. They do always look well and truely caned. I suppose thats the price of being essential, invaluable and totally reliable. Flog a willing horse and all that.
Cheers

Great pictures guys, keep 'em coming!! As for the UK MOD DUKW's, I saw a picture recently in a magazine of one in service with the Royal Navy.
