I am building Meng's AUF1. The paint scheme shows the lower hull/suspension/wheels to be entirely black; NATO black, of course. My question: should I bother to separately paint the tires on the road wheels? I'm leaning towards 'no' on this question; especially with a little dust/dirt on there I don't think you could tell. Thoughts? By the way, the hull is almost done and has been a blast to build so far, especially the working hydraulic shocks.

Maybe Tamiya XF-85 Tire Black is an option?

Hey Bill,
FYI, I typically use NATO Black on my tires. I painted my Tamiya Leclerc tank wheels/tires in NATO black, and oddly enough, the tires do seem to look somewhat different, even though the paint colors were the same. If I were you, I'd paint them the same. I believe you are correct in that weathering will have an effect on the wheels/tires and you won't notice the subtle difference in color, even if you paint the wheels and tires a difference shade of black. Just my opinion, of course.
