While the standard of this review is very high, it is disappointing to read about the flaws/inaccuracies in this kit. While once a leader in 1/72 scale kit quality Dragon sadly appears to be "cutting corners" with many of their recent offerings in this scale. Is there any justification for the incorrect cupola or lack of photo etch and details such as spare tracks?

I was waiting for the Late A as the box art shows it with zimmerit, but the early A box art also shows zimmerit which is not on the kit, so I am prepared to be disappointed. Dragon is not only crapping out on their kits, but they're also misrepresenting them on the box art.

Nice review, expected result. Dragons attention to detail and general high quality that was prevalent in a lot of their old 1/72nd range is just no more, this does nothing to revive it.

Thanks fellows, for the comps on the review. Thanks especially to Jan for supplying the build aspect again!
Yes, I don't think there is any justification for the error, I think the painting alteration gives it away; I suspect there was a wish to get another Panther variant out into the market with all the review and news coverage that goes with a new release, and perhaps the correct part just wasn't able to produced in time to fit in with the release schedule.
Biggles, I will be amazed if any of our shopping list ends up being in the basket when the Ausf.A Late is released, I'm pretty certain it will be a case of having done the minimum possible investment yet again. A shame. It would be nice to be surprised though...
