I know this is a dead horse, sorta, but .... What is a good out of the bottle green for COLD WAR soviet green? I know this has been discussed before but all those threads seem to take off to WW2 colors. I am starting a T-64, not a T-34) AK makes a few greens for their modern sov/RU sets. Is one of these right? (and available as singles, not sets) I've heard MM OD, Forest Green, Medium Green mentioned. I am leaning towards acrylics (Nearest hobby shop is 500 miles away so has to be readily mailable) Thanks in advance.

I'm using THIS set from Ammo by Mig, all the colours are also available separately.

Looks like the 083 is the right color. One thing that is confusing i the 932 is listed as "Russian Base" and as 4BO. Thanks.

To be totally honest on this subject, the best color to use is the one that looks correct to you. There are so many factors, even if you use photographs, that there is no one proper color.
I like to prime with black, use Model Master Acrylic Black Green as the base color, use Model Master Acrylic Dark Green for mid range, and then use some MM Acrylic sand to tone down the Dark Green to make my highlight. To start. Washes, tints, and flat/gloss coats will also change the look. I work with it until I get what looks right to me.

My bet is SPDesigns 1/35 2S14.
Check his website.
Nice kit, nice kits this one included, no affiliation just happy customer and happy to support especially when he gave us all the T-80 etc before Trumpeter got interested.

According to Steve Zaloga, FS-34095 is supposed to be a good match for fresh paint. You might want to lighten for scale effect (or not--the Cold War paints were often a semigloss finish, which reads darker). Model Master offers it as a USAF camouflage color.

Like many of my resin collection, SA4 and T-80Snow Leopard as well, still the SP Designs Sneg Bars is one of my favourite SPmDesigns kits, love building and painting it.
Trying to decide whether PTS-M will be done by trumpeter before buying it on sale, sorry for change of topic.
