Hi friends,

Some updates!
I primed the figure with medium gray and started painting with oils, black & white.
All I can say is that itīs difficult. At the moment the helmet is pretty much finished. The face needs some smoothing and contrast. The basic uniform camo is there. Next I have to wait a couple of days before applying the shadows and highlights. I may also use some metal colours for certain details, that would make a nice effect.

So far so good. This just seems to take more patience than I have on my disposal...

great job Toni.I really like this one more in every update.painting in b/w is a very good idea. What about adding a little flower to the vignette painted in colors before taking photos.

This is awesome !!!! I get a headache when I even try to think in Black and white, let alone that I have to paint it. This will be a big attraction when finished !!

Keep it up, I love it all the way.

Wow! I hadn't realized this was going to be a B&W project. My hat is off to you my friend as this is a really challenging task. I have a hard enough time painting something in color. Great stuff!

Hi,
This is an interesting concept. I have often thought it would be interesting to try and produce a 3D "photo" in B/W. Great job so far. Not an easy task keeping it from looking to cold. Your on the right trail.
cheers,
Bryan

I did not realize this was going to be a black and white scene. That makes the work twice as awesome

That's coming along very well. The camo looks great. The contrast level is just right for this kind of work.

A few better pics including base.
I attached the figure to the base by drilling a small hole in the foot and placing a metal rod in there. Glued with CA glue.
I also applied a metal rod to the parachute and I will stick it in a hole drilled in the base. The thing actually stays up by itself!

Shoes are still unpainted. I checked my references again and I think Iīll lighten up the whole character a bit. This evening I hopefully have time to start applying the strings using 0.2 mm fishing line...

Cheers,
Toni
