Thanks to you guys I’ve got a few options regarding Acrylic RLM colour manufacturers. But another question has popped up. Comparing Testors (modelmaster), Tamiya instructions, Xtracolor and Aeromaster to name a few, they all seem have different shades (perhaps due to paper quality) but sometimes different colours as well. What are the “correct” RLM colours ?? Is there such a thing as correct RLM colours and if so does anyone where to find the correct colour ??

all companies usually refer to the Federal Standards numbers and they have the corresponding nymber of their own. But usually there is a significant shade difference in colours as i recently experienced in Olive Drab from ModelMaster, Tamiya and Humbrol, 3 different colours. the lighter ones after washing and weathering come closer to the darkest ones so i prefer them

This is one of the hardest questions to give a straight answer.
As Major_goose has already mentioned
But add to this all the conditions in which German camouflage was applied and the mess the paint industry was in, especially during the last few years of the war, there seems to be a huge variety of shade
for any RLM colour.
There was a publication that had paint reference chips published a while ago that attempted to address this problem, and it used the Federal Standards numbers I believe, but it was expensive.
“Official Monogram Painting Guide to Luftwaffe Aircraft", by the authors, Kenneth Merrick and Thomas Hitchcock,
Also you might like to surf over to
www.rlm.at/archiv/rlm/rlm_e.htm
which has the fed numbers and equivalent model paint codes.
At least you have a lot of scope..
Cheers and good luck.

There are plenty guides around, so I supose you could go with the ones you feel are right.
It's a big problem and a delight at the same time....weird.
Cheers
