Good afternoon over there,

I have watched a lot of videos about T-90 in different actions, read the how to model the T-90, but I found no information about the 3 panels on the side skirts. So for what are they used (additional sided armor seem to be logical)? Besides, I noted there is no ERA brick on the side skirts ont the different T-90 versions, so do the 3 panels replace the ERA bricks or are they an evolded version of the ERA bricks?

Many thanks' for any information.
Cheers
Jacques

1. The K-1 ERA bricks were to increase the stand-off armor of previous tanks. These bricks snagged on a LOT of stuff when maneuvering, resulting in the loss of the bricks or of trailing debris that had to be cleaned off. They were not well liked by the tank crews.

2. The 3 panels are stand off spaced armor meant to specifically protect the driver. Also, the T-90 side skirts are of a heavier material than many previous tanks side skirt setups.
