Maybe you could use mouse bones. All you have to do is catch a mouse...

A bit gruesome but it has it's place. How come no skulls ?

The skull problem could also easily solved with catching a mouse :-)

I used a skeleton recently and would use more in an appropriate setting. Not so bad when you consider...
