Hello!
That`s my old project, what waits a long timeon the shelf.
Now is good time to come back and finish all the T34 family vehicles.
As maybe someone of You remember I try manufactured some wheels ,tracks and other pieces few years ago. Now I change my mind and do all this resin accessories as one person firm/shop supported partially by my Friend, who is designer.
Now I introduce SU85, converted from ToyStar (copies of Tamiya) SU100.
Firts steps few years ago

And some pics with some changes, new resin wheels, tracks, completely new gun mantlet and some new details.

New engine deck, rear plate and details.

Hull of SU is mostly ready.
Time to rework the chassi and I plan to do, that in spite of the differences I can adapt it to SU and T34.
The differences are in the position of escape hatch and 2 inspection caps.

Very interesting build so far Piotr, I'll be following it. I started the T34/85 in 1/25, also by ToyStar, a few yrs ago.

Funny, but I remember doing the exact same thing w/ the front drive axle. Tamiya obviously sold these as battery powered kits waay back when, and I used a small dia rod just as you have replacing those dated, silly motors and gears.
Did you scratch the rear hull plate hex bolts or picked up something AM? I will def be finishing my T34, I've been gathering some various bits for a Berlin '45 dio, and I hope to be seeing your SU coming along too.

Looking very good! I especially like the tracks on this model. Like all Russian armor this model says it is strictly business. No elegant lines, no frills, just brutal and effective. Always loved the straightforward design of Russian armor for that reason. Glad to see you're still making progress on this one!

Short and late update.
After the rear transmition cover I did tensioning mechanism with the axis of the idler wheel.

And continue today







My floor project is universal. You can choice version, and add caps and covers, remove some rivets . At this moment You can use chassi to early or late T34 or SU.

Finally, I already have a resin copies of gun mantlet.
For me, it all takes too long.
