Clearly, no subject is too obscure, and I'll be the first on my block to build one!

Not a big leap really. New turret, T-80B (late) or T-80U hull, and T-80 main gun. The only thing they have to mold is the turret, really. Easy change to make a new kit to sell on common molds. Trumpeter does exercises stretching out their molds.

We should probably expect to see some blue areas on the instruction sheet for this one.

I'm with ya Mike. Or how about just a decent T-80UD?

Wasn't there some difference with the number of road wheels too? I would much rather see a T-80UD, or T-84 Oplot than something that they used as a technology demonstrator.

The first prototype used a standard T-80 hull, but the later prototype had a lengthened hull. So maybe Trumpeter will make the kit of the first prototype to maximize the use of their molds?

T-80U, T-80UD, T-80UM-1 Bars (Snow Leopard) with Arena, and T-84 have all recently been announced by Trumpeter OFFICIALLY for 2017. Now the Obiekt 640 is added. I will bet it is all coming soon enough for our wallets.
