Who that has ever seen the award winning movie "Battleground" can ever forget it? When I was a kid the vets all thought this was the best film made about grunts during that war.

"Hey Kinney! What ever happened to Jody?"

Alright c'mon c'mon pick it up !

I know what it's like to live outside in those conditions and I wasn't even getting shot at. So,my deepest thanks to those guys in my brother division the 101st and also the civilian men and women of Belgium that shared the same experience.

Hey Jerry!
It must have been just yesterday when I was thinking of your brilliant portrayal of the ‘Kinney’ character! … Are you freakin’ clairvoyant or something?

My deepest respect goes out to all whom endured those unbelievable conditions ...

When I was a kid, long before I had a very sophisticated knowledge of history, the minister of my church was a WWII vet. He never talked much about his experience but the one memory he did relate was how on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day 1944(cant remember which day exactly)he was chest deep in freezing cold water holding his rifle above his head somewhere in the Bulge. I always wondered if that had anything to do with him becoming a man of God.

"Ya won't get home 'til the end of the war..."
"In nineteen hundred and seventy-four!"
"Sound off!"

Yup, my dad was there, with the 87th Infantry Division. Nice work, Jerry.

I can understand that for sure. Going to airborne school made me seek the creator. Standing at the open door of the 34 foot tower and getting ready to jump out with nothing to hold on to made me think about what comes after life ?
I chose the path. It got me through some very rough times in the army and in civilian life.
