I use Tamiya paints for my 1/35 armor. Can I coat the tank when finished with Testors Dullcoat 1260 in the spray can?
Thanks for your help.
Merry Christmas!

If your base colors are acrylic I don't know --you better check with others.

You can, but I would not advise it, unless it is all you have. I would recommend Model Master Acrylic if you have an airbrush. I find it works much better.
The only reason I say this, in the last couple of weeks I have seen some real horror stories of people using Tester Dullcoat, from crazed paints and decal to hazed over finishes. Not sure why, but possible change in formula.

Be aware that Testors makes Dullcoat and Lusterless Flat Coat.
NOT THE SAME PRODUCT!
Maybe some have confused one for the other giving undesirable
results.
Lusterless Flat Coat should not be used over acrylics
Cheers,
Joe.

Best to use Tamiya clear flat.TS-80.
Since trying it,I don't use Testors anymore.
Covers and dries much better.

I've been using Testors Dullcoat for eons. Only I use the bottled Dullcoat that I thin and airbrush it on. Never had any issues on any undercoats... enamels, oils or acrylics.
Rattle can Dullcoat can be very HOT and hard to control coating thus creating damaged undercoat.

I have been using Dullcoat, for years. I too airbrush it on and thing it. Even using generic lacquer thinner does not cause damage to my acrylics.

I have used testors dullcoat from a rattle can or my airbrush for every model I've ever built. That being said, I'm sure there are others here who have built far more than i. I've never had any problems with it and I've used it over acrylics, oil paint washes etc. I've always applied a coat of future or acrylic gloss prior to this, so that may make a difference. I prefer testors to any other flat finish I've experimented with. It does seem to fade out your washes some though.

I agree with Matt and Matthew. Been using Dullcote for 3-4 years now (switched from Tamiya Flat Clear) over all my acrylics and Future with no issues ever. IMHO it is the best Flat/Dull Clear ive used to date and like Matt i thin with Generic Hardware Store Lacquer Thinner.

Thanks to all of you for your input. When Polly Scale dullcoat was discontinued, it really threw me for a loop!

I've always had problems with air brushing a flat coat, no matter the brand. I've resigned myself to Testor's Dullcoat from the rattle can and have had no problems.
Take care,
