OK, so I am curious about this system.

Mainly, since there is an ammo box hanging on the side, and the belt feed is shown looping over the box, where is the feed drawing ammo from? Is there another ammo box inside the sight housing? Is the feed looping through the sight housing into the body the system is mounted on?

Yes;on the real vehicle, the belt feeds from inside the hull; the box would not be there.

Great, thank you. Is the ammo can inside the hull mounted to the same rotating piece the gun is mounted on, so the belt not tangled?

That would be the Puma and Achzarit. I've not seen it on any other vehicles, IDF or otherwise.

Of note, there is a newer OWS with a 50cal being rolled out to the Achzarit fleet, the Drakonit. Hopefully that is not far away in scale form!

happy new year and all that,

K.

Yes, the ammo can is affixed to the left of the unit below the roof line. Thereby allowing the additional of further belts to the machine gun from the safety of the hull. As seen here,

Thanks for the vehicle. Looks like this is used on multiple IDF vehicles.

Going through some photos, it seems when used on the Puma the box is mounted more often than not, while on the Achzarit it is a plain belt or feed chute, no box mounted.
