I have a diarama in mind for AFV Club Pak 43/41. This was a very large and heavy gun. I would imagine it had a crew of between 6 - 10 men to manoevre the gun and handle the heavy ammo. Does anyone have an actual figure for the crew?

The pictures in the book by Werner Haupt (from Schiffer Pub.), they show 5 men at least on each limber when they move it...
Including commander, the crew seems to have been 12 (which would also fit on a single Sd.Kfz 6 or 7).

Thanks for the info Kencelot...
I was just going by the pics in my booklet... which show that so many man were needed to get it into place (the version as produced by AFV-club).
What would the rest of the men involved in moving the gun do ? Be in there for protection with small arms ?

It's tough to say. They could have just been there as part of another unit. Maybe they were called over to help install the gun. (shoulders shrugging) I do understand the need for plenty of men to move her though, she weighed nearly 10,000lbs.!
