The mantlet is the moveable part which "connects" the gun to the turret. On the T-54/55 there usually is a canvas cover. Your model shows the full metal part.

As Olivier said. It's usually a material made of canvas.

Greg, the cover is not included, as is an early type of turret.
The set has a clamp for mounting
