Does anyone know if the RB Model barrel (RBM35B003) will fit the Eduard/Asuka/Tasca M4A1? I can get one of those a lot easier than the Aber barrel and it's cheaper than the CMK.

Thanks in advance.

Bob,

Yes it will fit, however it is a bit thinner at the base than the kit barrel. There is a barrel that is the right size for the Asuka mantlet, from Lion Marc.

LM10021 75mm early.
LM10022 75mm late.

I did a search at E-Bay "LM10021" and there is a supplier in Canada that stocks the barrels, Olddogmodels. He is listing both early and late barrels. I have never bought from this person but he has a 99.8% rating. Cost is $6.50 US.

Tks,
Randy

Thanks for the info. I just ordered the Eduard M4A1, which will give me several options. I'll probably go with an early version with the spoked road and idler wheels--because I just like the look. Doing some research now to find out when the short barrel was replaced by the longer one, but I know there could be lots of overlap on the production line, sort of like the Bf 109.

Are you planning a WWII tank? The Eduard is a typical mid war M4A1 75mm gun tank. Either of the LionMarc barrels would work. If you make an M4A1 with the narrow mantlet use the early gun barrel. The wide mantlet could be either barrel.

After WWII many of these early M4A1's were rebuilt with the US 76mm gun.

Definitely WWII. Thanks for the barrel tip on the narrow mantlet, but I'm not yet sure which mantlet I'll use. I"m in the process of researching data and photos before I make a final decision. That should take awhile...

I have ordered from this retailer and he is good in my experience.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to order a couple for my Asuka kits.

Thank you, that's good to know. He also carries the RB Model .30 caliber MG--one stop shopping.

I just ordered a LionMarc 75mm L/40 barrel and two RB Models M1919 .30cal barrels from Old Dog Models in Ontario for my Eduard M4A1. The order shipped today and I haven't received it yet, but I'm impressed with the service so far. One thing I like that isn't seen very often is the option to download a PDF of my receipt--a welcome surprise. Shipping charge is a very reasonable $4 to Virginia.

I do have a tow cable question. My calipers indicate that 0.8mm might be right for the M4A1 kit. Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks in advance.
Bob
