Building the old Tamiya M8 howitzer motor carriage; instructions say brass casings for shells (naturally); what color for projectile? instructions say black; thanks

The most common 75mm howitzer shells were HE, so olive drab with yellow markings.
BTW, it's an M8 howitzer motor carriage mounting a 75mm M2 or M3 howitzer.
