As stated in my review I am now starting to build this interesting looking AFV.




As mentioned in the review, the instructions seem to jump around from section to section, I thought why not. So my first intention was to do the interior, but released there holes for mounting some items on the lower hull come right through to the interior, and there as some ejector marks to tend to. So the next thought was to add the lower hull detail that used those holes, then patch the holes and ejector marks.

So first I started with the tanks in Step 9, but what is not stated in the instructions, is that you will need to build 4 of these.



Next I moved to the water propulsion, these parts are well done, and build relatively easy. I made one change, I decided to mount the propeller assemblies prior to adding the lines as opposed to the instructions.



This made adding those lines (Parts F7, F8, F18, F19) much easier to add and align.



With the parts in place, I could now fill the holes and ejector marks in the interior.



Next I decided to tackle the engine, even though there are no positionable hatched to view the work. The instructions are a little weak in showing the assembly of a couple of parts. First off, Part 24 is not labelled in the instructions, and is required to mount the turbo charger.


Also it kind of shows the B10/B12 assembly added at this point, but it needs part B2 and B3 in place before it can be mounted. And to add to this there is no locator marks for adding the transmission to the engine, so I ended up using B2 and B3 to assist in lining up the two sub-assemblies.




The rest goes pretty straight forward, other then I would suggest mounting part B17 before mounting the turbo charger (B13/B29).

It is unfortunate that without considerable surgery and scratch building that this engine won't be visible.




Well that is all for now, I will be back soon, this time back to my original plan of the interior.

So I managed to get a little more work done on the interior. The driver section looks nice, unfortunately there are no paint call outs or decals included, and parts are not included to have the driver hatch fully open.



The rear seats go together ver y well, no issues, and look nice.



With the interior parts assembled, time for some primer. I used Grey Stybylrez on most parts and Vallejo Gloss Black Metal Primer for the engine.

So the rest of the interior went together very well. I used what images I could find on the internet to determine interior colors, so they may not be exact. I even added a little color to the engine, even though it will never be seen.





Now the real "fun" began, the frame and running gear. The first step is to put the frame together. I found many ejector marks that prevented a good fit. I used my handy micro chisel to deal with these.



The instructions have you install the suspension pistons and swing arm not being on the vehicle, and I though how will this line up when attaching to the lower hull? So I decided to attache the lower swing arms and suspension while dry fitted to the lower hull to ensure alignment.





Next I inserted the transfer case and added the axles and wheel mounts, all not glued.



Then added the lower swing arms for onside. I set this aside to dry. Then I started the other side, well lets just say not as easy as it shows in the instructions. It seems the axles are too long. So mounted the frame lined up the transfer cases, added drive shafts, then tried to line up, still no luck.

So I ended up cutting the axles, sanding and then mounting the wheel mounts correctly between the swing arms.


Well that was fun, we will see how the rest goes after I let this dry for a day or two.

Do the vehicle serve different purpose than the gun turreted one? Is the Rosomak now the standard MICV of the Polish Army?

Back at the bench and a little more work done.

Wheels go together well, no issues, just watch as you will build two sets of four and each set will have different direction of the treads.



Starting work on the upper hull, and started adding the details. There is some nice photo-etched for the grills. There is one piece not labelled on the instructions.



There are some photo etched parts on the front, and I noticed too late when looking at some photo references that these should have been bend to add some corrugation details. This is not mentioned at all in the instructions.


The OSS-M turret goes together well, so far, I have yet to add the clear plastic parts.



Well getting this done, should be ready for full primer soon.

Well with the build complete, time for some primer and paint. I primed the lower section with Ammo by Mig Black Primer and the upper section with Stynylrez Grey Primer.


The instructions call for NATO Green as the color, and from images(not always accurate) it looked a little darker, so I went with Vallejo Medium Green.




The decals went on very well, a touch of Solvaset, and they sat down real good around the rivet details.

Tires were painted with Vallejo Dark Rubber, and I will be applying a wash using Vallejo Dark Grey.



Next up are washes and weathering. Stay tuned for the completion.

Well weathering done, and model complete. I have to say this is a very nice kit from IBG, now if they only included a little more detail for the interior, including a painting guide and some decals, this could be an awesome kit.

If there had been more details on the interior, I would have left the rear doors open as well.

I think the kit is a good value for money. It has a nice interior details, much better than any of trumpeter's or hobbyboss or even mighty Tamiya kits...and the price is very attractive.
With a bit of effort it turns to a great model.
Another thing. Despying the fact that most of modern armour vehicles are quite bold in markings, Toro-model offers two sets of decals fot it, so there is a chice.
And the last. The position of crew hatches is incorrect.

Which ones? I looked at some reference images and did not see a difference. But then again, I found very few of the OSS-M turreted version.

The interior is nice, but is missing interior roof details, stowage for the walls, and there are no painting guides nor decals.

Am I correct, that the "Rosomak" is the polish name of the finnish "Patria"? At least, that's what I heared. So for instance, the german "Boxer" will be called "Vilkas" in the lithuanian army.

You are correct, it is based on the Finnish Patria AMV.

Looking really good.. Does anyone knows if the weapon is possible to buy from any aftermark company.. Dont look so sharp in details...

FYI; Miniarm makes the NSV, which is made in resin and is quite nice ! I have the Green Devil with the Caged Armor & Turret 30mm cannon; Altho I have not started it as of yet.
The IBG kit is quite nice, altho I would Not Go quite as far as saying it Compares with Trumpeter, or Tamiya in terms of Quality or Level of Detail's !! The Interior Beg's for extra detail's like crew storage etc;
