when you place the order, you have a choice of different shipping methods. The quick delivery more expensive, A little slower delivery less expensive..

Best service in the industry - Orders often shipped the same day - always a pleasure to deal with - had a damaged package ( post office ) - kit boxes damaged inside shipping box but kits were fine - Sprue Bros immediately refunded all costs - kits , tax , shipping - and they told me to keep the kits . Can't top that IMHO.

Just received my order today. The shipping rates are quite high even on the cheapest choice. But they are the best in getting you your order fast and correct. I always go with them first.

The shipping is an approximate amount on the item/s. I frequently get a few dollars refunded each time I order as the cost was lower. Can't say that about most other companies I have ordered from.

Depends on how much you buy. over $100 half price shipping over $200 shipping is free. but i don't think its ever over $15 or $20. Like most they want you to spend more per order.

I think that their postage rates are on a par with the US Postal Rates. I just got a shipment from them a week ago. 2 kits were $11.37 2nd day air. I could of saved about a $1.50 by going ground.
Buying, selling & Trading with Armorama members USPS rates have been around $10 to $12 on past transactions. IMHO, Sprue Bros. are a great online vendor.

Just FYI;

Dragonusaonline.com ships all orders over $99 USD for FREE inside the USA. And this includes their many sales events...

And then there is Squadron.... They have a step shipping schedule with "economy" and "expedited"- order $100+ USD and you pay 9.99 economy for however much goes, domestic. Squadron has numerous great sales events and other "buy NOW!" gimmicks going on. These sometimes include free shipping on a "cart" over x-amount, etc. Squadron has always been extremely prompt in shipping and always seems to get the stuff down to me in Louisiana safe and intact in only a couple of days going "economy". Of course, as Squadron is only as far away as Dallas, TX area...

I order most of my "from mail-order stores" kits and supplies from Squadron, and some from Dragonusa, and occasionally some from SprueBrothers. ALL of these places have always done right and fixed any errors promptly and nicely by me.

And the vast majority of eBay vendors have been both very fast and very reliable, in my experience (400+ kits off evil-bay vendors over past 8 years...). I almost always order kits "by price for the thing I want" - whether it be from the cheapest source w/ shipping on eBay, or from any of the online hobby stores from sales or they have the best total price available.

There's a certain weird satisfaction out of "scoring" 4 great armor kits (1 Takom, 2 HobbyBoss, 1 Tristar) with about 2500 total parts great and tiny to lose somewhere hitting my door altogether in one box for 99.35 US w/"economy" shipping 2 days after ordering them! LoL!

ScaleHobbyist.com does the same thing plus, although they don't have sales, they have the lowest everyday prices I've seen. Usually about the same as Squadron's sale prices.

My local hobby shop closed and I asked the forum members which online vendor to go with . Both Scale Hobbiest and Sprue Brothers were recommended. In all the orders I have sense ordered through one or the other depending on who has what in stock, I have never been disappointed in either one. Both have great service. I am getting a Meng and a Tiger Model order together now. My advice for you is to not order small orders through any one. The shipping cost will double your bill. Instead wait and order several things at once. Maybe a kit or two AND those two bottles of paint you wanted. It will spread out the shipping costs. I believe it is Sprue Brothers that has a cheapest way to send if you want. They will ship UPS and have the USPS deliver. An extra day but that,s OK by me considering the size of my stash.

I regularly buy from the following three:
I rank them in the order of my joy in using them;
1) Scale Hobbyist - consistent low prices
2) Sprue Brothers - consistent pricing AND great accessories
3) Squadron - odd stocking; but occasional Great Sale prices

I have spent over $6K from these 3 vendors in the last 5 yrs.

ALL three have great response times and I would be extremely surprised (and a bit skeptical) if any normal person had a difficulty with any one of these 3's customer Service.

I have interacted with all 3 about orders, I have gotten emails with lower shipping cost than was web quoted. I have even gotten a partial refund on items because the next week they were on a cheaper sale!

Sprue Brothers shipping is on the slightly high side for some of the stuff I've bought. The easiest thing to do is wait till you have about $100+ of items you need, so you can get half off shipping.

Otherwise its roughly the same amount of $ for kit from the Far East to get shipped to you (if its a single kit)

Just as an immediate site-comparison for my recent (Dec 28) Squadron purchases versus ScaleHobbyist.com:

Prices rounded up or down to nearest whole USD

ScaleHobbyist --- Squadron

HB Pz. 38(t) B 25 --- 14
HB Finnish T-50 31 --- 23
HB Russian T-28E 46 --- 26
Takom AMX-13/90 38 --- 25

total 140 --- 88

Shipping = 10 total= 150 --- 98(really 99.34)

I almost ALWAYS wait until there is some big sales event at the Squadron (and at other vendors)! It PAYS! And I always wait and buy sufficient to get the shipping price-break when it will work. Squadron has LOTS of sales events - just be patient!

PS: About every vendor has something different on his shelf... So sometimes that kit you just absolutely NEED one of right now may require you to just roll over and pay the one place that actually carries it... I try manfully to resist confusing those common 4-letter words WANT and NEED!

Most definitely shop the sales !!!! Another thought... If you happen to have some modeling buddies or belong to a club make group purchases. If you get enough kit$ most vendors will ship for free.
