Need a good quality tow cable for my Dragon Tunisian Tiger.
The cable that comes with the kit is too thick for the eyelets and as you know the cable is a pain to bend.

I was thinking maybe a thinner gauge cable like from a Panzer III might be more suitable as not sure the kit eyelets are to scale as they look a lot smaller than your regular Tiger eyelets.

The big eyelet is a standard Tiger one,the small one is the one to use in the instructions.

The Eureka set gives you the large cable and the small one. They come with resin eyelets.

...and the eyelets for the main cables they provide are substantially smaller than your OOB Dragon ones, while the track mounting rope ends are noticeably larger. The resin to copper fit is spot on.

The only ones I could find were the SKP cables from Historex.

Worth it at £2.90

Many thanks

They're not supposed to be regular Tiger eyelets.

The first 17 Tigers were issued with 22mm diameter cable, as used on medium Panzers. The eylets and cable ends of this cable were quite small. This thin cable was stored with the ends to the rear of the tank.
Dragon's kit 6608 covers only Tigers with this small cable.

You can see the size of the cable ends here. The parts in 6608 were designed based on Tiger photographs including this one, and not from any other source.

I can see what your saying but Dragon have given the standard cable with this kit,the cable thickness is far too thick for the 4 small eyelets.
Thinner cable is needed or you have to buy AM cable which again for a Tiger is about the same thickness as the kit cable, you could use a thinner Panzer III cable but the length is not long enough.

I like Karaya tow cables, they are easy to shape and they make a set for the Tiger I http://www.pacmodelscatalog.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=PCM&Product_Code=TCR02&Category_Code=Katc

But the point is, you don't want "Tiger cable" for this kit.
This fact (the thin cable) was only recently discovered and I don't think any AM sets will have a correctly labelled solution.

of course you could also twist your own cable, by twisting together a fiew copper wires.
not difficult at all and you can get the diameter you want.

I had to more or less make my own cable,I received my set of SKP cables which were far too thick so I took off 4 strands of copper wire and re-twisted them using my drill on slow speed.
I think they ended up looking okay.

I will be happy once I have installed them

Just to add I laid it next to a standard kit cable just to compare size difference.
