Here is something that many of our members may find interesting. I think it would be nice to make a trip just to take some pictures, if that is allowed.

There was another organization that did something similar to this in the same state a few years back. I hope these folks do well.

I would so love to get into the driver's and gunner's seat and bust some caps. Wonder if they're hiring?

Took the liberty to correct some typos in the first post.

Looks like fun! Expensive but fun. Based on this my son who commanded a M-106A4 Mortor vehicle in Iraq for three tours and one in Korea for one tour as well as a lot of training in Ft. Benning means he would have run up a bill for millions of dollars.

He did and the US taxpayers footed the bill. Operating military equipment is expensive. One hour of operation of an M60 series tank was over $1000 in 1990s money(ammo not included). When transitioning to M1s we were told the price had doubled. Firing one main gun training round cost the taxpayers $3000 in 1991. Playing with the big boy toys is expensive.
I figure if I sell off my stash of Historex on ebay I could just about swing that Fury package plus airfare and accommodation .

Hello Christophe,
Lol...haven't you heard? Everything's big in Texas! That's just pocket change around these parts....lol.
Would'nt it be something extra special if they were to obtain an AMX-30 for the same purpose?

Allen

The prices floored me. LOL I learned how to drive on an M48a1 at VMI..progressed into the M60a1 Rise in the 70'sand qualified in shooting with it. GOt an opportunity at an Armor conference to drive an M1. So whereas it would be cool to run around in a Leopard...think the $2500 coud go someplace else

Hey Stephen,
I got to drive a T-54/55 many moons ago...I bet we would both have fun trying a Cheftain or a Leopard.
I fired one live TOW round in my career. I recall being told that the missile cost taxpayers $3,000.00 back then (1979). I had no idea that we were spending that much money on main gun rounds; maybe they were rolling all the costs together and averaging it out?
When I did my time on tanks, I believe the annual allotment was 90 plus rounds/crew/year. Does that sound correct to you? I may not remember correctly.

Allen

Hello Paul,
I remember the company that you are referring to. I found out about them after they had stopped operations. They were much closer to the house and I was hoping to go visit them. Did you ever go there?
The thought has crossed my mind that this newer company might picked up some of the former owners equipment.

Allen

Hello Dan,
It looks like the one y'all have up there in the northern territories is almost as good as the one we have in Texas..lol! They have a very nice inventory of vehicles. I have always liked the looks of a Centurion with the "hush-puppy" tracks.
Thanks for sharing this information.
