Of all my kits I have built my favorite has been Tamiya's T 62. Before you think I fell down the stairs and hit my head let me say I started with that kit. But I knew it wasn't accurate so I ordered Virlindens's update for the T 62. As I was adding that I noticed turret inaccuraces to the t 62's I saw in Kuwait so I ordered AEF's T 62 turret. That was better however I noticed Tamiya's T 55 had more accurate parts so I replaced the like parts between the two kits. Well the rubberband track wasn't going to work so I got a set of Friules. I bought a T 55 and T 62 photo etch kits and added those parts. I then custom made the fuel lines with old phone wire and used thread for the headlight and searchlight wiring. When I was done The only part that was original was the turret ring forward part of the hull. This was all prior to anyone other than Tamiya making the T 62. I really enjoyed the build and it is still one of my favorites. (and most expensive)

Hello Greg,

This is a great modeling story...I started laughing to myself when I saw where it was going. That Johnny Cash song started going through my head about his "customized" automobile...lol

Thanks,
Allen

I loved the kit when it first came out, I remember painting it with a can of spray paint and trying to do some camo with cotton-balls.

Later I did another one with a CMD turret and wheels, fruil track and a Modelpoint barrel. Added the fuel lines with some solder and painted it with my Sotar 20/20 in 1973 Syrian colors.
