Trumpeter ups the ante by announcing a full interior for its upcoming Maus kit. Only a couple of CAD images have been shared for now. Watch this space for updates.

Damn their faces. I have been obsessed with interiors since I realized there were "some" available in resin. I kept telling myself how much better life would be if there were more models with interiors... Now I do. At this rate, I won't be able to build all the tanks I want withing two lifetimes, let alone one.

I guess the old saying is still true: be careful what you wish for.

Any idea when it will be released? As I am unsure weather to get this maus or Takoms. As it would be another fun model to do a cutaway on. Any idea if it has scale thickness armor?

Cant wait for the release in 2023!

On a serious note : will most likely get this. I prefer Takom to Trumpeter usually, but full interior is just way too much of a treat.
About time for a new maua kit s, the old dragon one looks nice but lacks too many details and it takes a goos bit of nerves to put the kit together (probably one of the worst kits ive built when it comes to parts fitting together properly, that suspension - UGHH...)

Real mixed feelings on this one...I thought that Takom's full-interior King Tiger was cool, but I'd rather see more on real vehicles -like a Leo 1 or 2, or even a better Panther, Churchill or Pershing.

Interesting.

In my limited experience, the ranking of quality of molding, detailing and accuracy is as follows:

Bronco > Meng > Takom > Tamiya > hobby boss > trumpeter.

From what I can see about your posts, they are mainly WWII stuff which Trumpeter/HobbyBoss was not good at before. Funny thing is their main effort is on modern stuff and WWII quality is also improving....but still....put Tamiya in this section and no sign of AFV makes this ranking not that convinced.....personal point of view...feel free..

I would put AFV roughly on par with Takom if that helps.

Tamiya has superb molding, the best parts design, but somewhat lacking in detail compared to the latest from meng or dragon.

I am surprised you didn't mention dragon being missing.
