Looks like the U.S. modern military figures will soon need to get new pistols. Sig P320 is selected apparently.

That's not an American company is it? Trump won't be happy.

Last I checked Beretta wasn't either. Trump won't care so long as it is made in the USA.

Eric

SIG Sauer is company located in the northern part of Germany.

https://www.sigsauer.com/

They are making handguns for Law Enforcement Officers around the globe. When I am correct FBI and MCIS personal use SIG Sauer handguns.
The US military designation will be M17 Modular Handgun System or MHS.

its just assembled here ! its not made here . The steel is produced in europe ,and japan I believe , the profits go to the Swiss . most of the jobs are in Switzerland ! which is fine but the US Armed forced should buy US goods !

From what I gathered, SIG has been sold to a German holding. The former Swiss SIG owner does not have ay shares anymore...

So let me see if I have this straight.

A German holding company owns a Swiss manufacturer that is making gun parts from Japanese steel to be assembled by US workers.

That's typical globalization. My Japanese car is assembled in the US from components from Japan and there are some Canadian and Mexican parts in there. If we go to where the rare metals come from we can add Asia and/or Africa. If you are going to include the source materials it'll be hard to find anything made in just one country these days.

My "American" truck was made from parts from Mexico, England, Germany, Japan and a dozen other countries and assembled in Canada then shipped to the USA. It came with a green card. The only part that is "American" is the fact Ford H.Q. is in Dearborn Michigan.

I believe that there is no manufacturing of hand guns carried out in Switzerland either. I believe they only do the assault rifles there...
