Too bad for PSM and hopefully NOT the start of a Black Plague M113 family.

Very interesting! Can be added to my growing collection of cold war British items!
Fingers crossed it's not afflicted with the Black Plague

I reached out to my Dragon contacts for more information. Based on previous recent Dragon modern armor releases I'm not particularly optimistic, but who knows...

Compared to the prices of other recent releases, $70 USD ($100 CAN) is a real bargain!

I am sure the actual shelf price at a lot of online and overseas retailers will be far less then $70.00. Besides you all know you will need it either way when you are on the living room floor playing army men. I know I will be unstoppable with this and my atomic cannon.

If they do as good a job on the Lance as the did on the Patriot, it will be quite disappointing. I would have felt better if it was Trumpeter, AFV or Meng.

I wonder if they'll release the towed version as Hobby Fan has done (along with the HF tracked version) . The launcher in the back of the SP version isn't to much different than the towed version-- it just has wheels and a towing lunet as I recall with some firing electronics in a separate box. It was also Airmobile in the back of a CH-47. I for one am glad to see somebody doing this, but we also need an Honest John and a LaCrosse.

I wonder...
Long time ago Dragon announced M983 tractor with a Patriot launcher trailer. When they finally released that combo, the tractor turned out to be just the Italeri old HEMTT with some new parts to make a rather poorly detailed M983 of it.
And we know that Italeri already have M113 series of kits... And they are not the best in the market, quite the opposite actually...
Not sure how many parts Dragon could re-use for this kit though - wheels, suspension parts, tracks, skirts... Anything else?

I have a couple AFV Club M548's in the stash. I wonder how the Lance portion would work with the AFV Club chassis....HMMMMMMMM.

It should be fine once you convert it to an M667 carrier.

I fully expect an Italeri M113 suspension. A new mold can have old parts on it to allow for another version to be kitted.

Maybe we will see something soon IF DML attends to Nuremberg Toy Fair. I think we can see the first images on Primeportal on February, 2.

Stephen, I guess we'll find out. The Hobby Fan Lance uses parts from the AFV M548, but the loading ramp, rear superstructure and driver's/engine compartment are all resin since they are so different from the M548. Seems to me Dragon would have to do a lot of work to get the suspension from an existing M113 kit to fit a new Lance hull, but lately anything goes with Dragon I guess. And they sure have been taking a lot of shortcuts with their post-war US equipment. By the same account, since the launcher is the same on the towed version, it wouldn't take much to do a towed version-- just add wheels really. As much as I'm skeptical of thier details, I'm certainly glad there will be some competition for the incredibly expensive HF kit-- if the $79 cost of this kit scares anyone, HF retails for about $150, with the towed versions going for about $75. I dumped my HF kits about 3 years ago because I could get more for them than I paid 8 yeas ago. So this one is welcome for sure, they can't screw it up that bad can they?
