Friends,
Next sunday members of the Benelux Armorama Community will go out on a "Remember Market Garden Fieldtrip". We'll visit the area of Arnhem and Oosterbeek where the fights took place 60 years ago. Since we'll probably be loaded with digital camers and videocameras I think it's fair to let you share in our fun day out.
Does anybody have any special requests for pictures they want ? Maybe pictures of the you're building to look at how it it nowadays ? If so, then now is the time to let us know !!
I'll write down the requests and will do the best I can to visit the location and take the pics.

Danny:
If you run across any uniforms or personal equipment examples I'd be interetsed in whatever shots you can get.
Will you set up some sort of gallery of all the day's pictures as well?

Hi Danny. Im still looking for some decent pictures of the John frost bridge. Like how the metal posts are connected to the road... and pillars and metal ropes if they have any. I know this is not the original bridge .... and if it were possible to get a postcard picture or something like that .... especially the original ...... I ... among others .... would be very grateful.
Have a great day out and get loads of pics ... they are all of interest!

How about one of everyone at a local pub tipping back a frosty one. We offer up cheers regularly here . It's envious that you guys will actually get together and see the great history first hand.
Cheers - have one on me!

Ok,
only three quarters of an hour before I take off. Kris (Crossbow) will be todays pilot for the Armorama Eagle.
I'll be :
- trying to take pictures of uniforms and personal equipment (Porkchop)
- trying to get my hands on information and pics of the original bridge (Plasticbattle)
- drinking cold goodies on Slodder's account (I'll forward the bill... #:-) )
- trying to take pictures for Kancali from :
- the Weverstraat in Oosterbeek
- Old street or park lights
- Old manhole covers or street grates
- Small fountains
- Cobblestone or macadam streets.
If I can find the patience, I'll be shooting quite some length of videotape too. This can easily be converted in pictures and/or DVD. I'll try to make a video-impression of the day and host it somewhere on the web....I'll get back to you on that within some weeks.
Well gentlemen, my transportplane is approaching, so I'm going to wear my gear and get ready for the flight. I'll be in touch after we got back.
Remember Market Garden !

Old manhole covers
Kancali,

http://back.to/arnhem
On this site is a short article about the old manholes / trenches.
