I'm building up ICMs BS-3 and want to paint it up as one recently stationed in the Kuril Islands. Have found a couple photos reputedly in the Kurils and they look over all green. Any clues as to if they had any camo? If so, I'd think dark green or brown for that climate.

Standard 4BO green is what they were sent in. Most items up to the most recent are also just...green.
The newer mobile coastal defense units, radar, missile launchers, mobile guns...have 3 tone cammo you could use for a theoretical cammo scheme, but I have seen no pictures of anything of the proper time period in cammo.
Another thought is to build it well weathered, to give it an interesting look:

Looks like some seagull wants to buy that turret. He put a deposit on it! Is the turret an early t-54?

Yes, that looks to be a T-54-1 turret.

Nice work. It certainly looks like something you would find out on the Kurils.
