I am working on the ICM BS-3. I can find little info on the guns stationed on the Kuril Islands as coastal defense / anti- landing craft guns. Any info on if they are over-all green or camo? (dark green or brown over the green base.)

Hi;
4BO Green or Olive Drab, there paint was not to any standard. There were not A lot of these Guns used as Static defense ! Most coastal defense's were Turreted guns from old vehicles like T-34/85s or T-54/55s built on Concrete bases.
CHEERS; MIKE.

Photo of intact turret gun: T -54/2 ? I read the Chinese used IS-2s along the Sino-Soviet border as bunkers but just buried the hull, stripped the engine/ drive train and accessed the turret via a "tunnel" through the engine compartment. As for the BS-3, I think I saw they had about 40 on the islands. I guess they were the Soviet answer to the British Berlin Brigade ..... They won't last long, why waste first line equipment on them.

Just like this T-34 in the Jordan valley... (which reminds me to put this picture in another thread as well... )
