Balsa Foam is not new. I tried some out about 10 years ago. Carves easily, etc., but is a complete PITA to paint. It just soaks up primer, or paint, like a sponge, without much noticeable change in color. It must take several heavy coats of paint to seal the surface.![]()
someone producing the stamps that you could make the cobbles etc from as in one of the photos here would be real bonus as well

Extremely difficult to get in Australia these days. Only place I know off that stocks it is cavalier art supplies.
If you want something similar to the firm balsa foam(a little firmer I believe), at a significantly cheaper price, go to Bunnings and get some knauf insulation board. It's made of XPS, which is a common sculpting medium, and comes in 2 thicknesses.
