With Takom's release of their chieftain models I was hoping there would be some after market stuff for these kits. Specfically crew stowage and crews. I would have thought Legend or Blackdog would have had stuff out by now. I know of one crew set but the faces are a little heavy on detail. Have I missed something?
Cheers
Dave

AC Models has eleased two crew sets - one for the BAOR, another Iranian with some stowage. As well, Valkyrie Miniatures has a BAOR crew that should be suitable for the Chieftain.

I like the crew provided in the old Tamiya kit, probably the same price as a single
Resin figure for the whole kit complete with 3 figures and with Hornet heads can be dressed up really well.
I used them on my MK11 conversion

Anyone have BOAR appropriate decals yet? The lack of BOAR markings has kept me from getting any of the Takom Chieftains.

I think you would get away with the 60's through to the 80's for the bottom set. The top set is aimed at the Gulf War though and I suspect the helmets tie them down to a tighter period of time.

Accurate Armour sell great resin barrels that I bought for mine and Master club sell exceptional metal tracks with rubber pads. Two sets are available with either new or worn track pads.

I'm a bit dubious about the headsets on the lower set. They don't look much like any of mine (Larkspur and Clansman). A set with the Dan Dare helmets would be welcome and I have a vague idea that someone makes one although memory fails me as to who it is.

Accurate Armour do a set of 3, marketed as a CVR(T) crew - FSO3 at 14 quid; 2 of the set are wearing the Dan Dare helmets albeit one with a Combat Cap underneath. The 3rd figure is wearing a Cold Weather Cap - the one with earflaps, peak etc. Whilst only 2 have the helmet at least it's a start. Shelling out for an extra set to provide a 3rd figure (thus filling all hatches) wouldn't seem too punishing.
'Hope this helps.
