Does anyone know the actual dimensions (length, width and height) of the TUAAM box often seen fitted to the top of the wing on military Land Rovers?

Hi Paul,

If you go to the following link near the bottom someone has worked out an approx size for the wing mounted ATU box. The TUAAM is mounted within this box on shock mounts.

You probably know this already, but the TUAAM wing box would only fit an FFR vehicle. There was a shallow box about 1" deep fitted to each wing top on FFRs, and the TUAAM box mounted onto this with a bolt and locating pin. The TUAAM box overhung the wing box all round. The connecting cables for the TUAAM were stowed inside the shallow box. In the back you would have the radio table, battery box and dexion-type mounting rack. There was a GS radio installation conversion kit for the 351/352, which provided the same wing fitting and dexion racking, but they were rare.
Some Rovers on the preservation circuit have TUAAM boxes you could measure or scale from photos.

Again you probably know this, but earlier Rovers carried Larkspur radios which had a different smaller wing box. The change happened late 70's/early 80's, so Series 3 Rovers and Lightweights carried both.
