Hi Guys,
Does anyone know of interior sets for the BMP 1, specifically, engine & drivers compartment, but whole interior is good as well lol
Cheers Mike

Well there was the old AEF one although it was designed for the old and terribly inaccurate Dragon kit so it's very unlikely to fit the Trumpeter version which is the sensible option now. However, I've never seen an aftermarket set for it, although I have started drawing up the major components. Unfortunately I don't have one in my garage though, which means that it is a prolonged business, particularly as I keep running into other distractions.

AEF interior set came with a lot of resin parts for the entire vehicle except the engine compartment.
It was quite basic with the usual molding standard, if you know what I mean. The instructions were a guess game too.
Don't know if it could fit the Trumpeter kit but if I'm correct there are some real dimension differences between both plastic kits.

The AEF Designs set is usable as a starting point for a BMP-1 interior. It has all the big pieces and will fit in the Trumpeter BMP-1 kit, though it was designed for the Dragon kits. It does not include the engine nor engine compartment.
Trumpeter has a BMP-2 with full crew/driver interior. It does not have an engine nor engine area.
The BMP-3 (Skif and Trumpeter have kits of one) is a totally different vehicle and the interior for it can not be used in a BMP-1.

Still find it surprising that none of the major aftermarket outfits haven't put out an interior for the Trumpy -1. Even SP Designs which has some really cool stuff for this kit doesn't seem interested.
I used the AEF set ages ago. Definitely not state of the art but that being said, it was fairly complete and detailed enough to serve as a good starting point (assuming you can even find one). In AEF's defense, when they released this set, it was pre-internet and it wasn't like there were hundreds of resources available to document what the inside of a BMP-1 looked like.
