While we're on the subject of that area, and referring to your photo of the RH rear corner, you will notice the start of the fuel tank vent pipe on the RH rear corner of the deck. Where's the rest of it, and for that matter, where are the other three?
Both Meng and Takom make exactly the same mistake. Perhaps they used the same vehicle as the basis of their kits?
Regards
Rob

It's not really a mistake by Meng, the single short vent line is correct for the production period the kit represents. Given the kit has a welded commanders cupola, single vent line and the earlier design of side skirts, it best suits a July-early August 44 production vehicle. It's a bit of a mixed bag with the vent lines as it wasn't a straight change from 1 to 4. There are examples with 2 long vent lines before the 4 vent lines became common.
Here is a useful source detailing changes during production.

Sorry, I meant that the poster on the Russian site stole/used them uncredited from John on Facebook, not you.

Hello All,
Update on the Kingtiger project, though there’s not much to report.
I have prepared the lower hull, not really deviating from the Takom instructions. As you can probably see, I have sanded off all the ejector pin marks and Takom part reference text from the lower hull.

I have made some amendments to the driver’s seat frame.

Sadly the Meng Interior Kit has still not been released. I was hoping it would be at the end of February. This is obviously not the case. I have no idea when it is going to be available. This will have an impact on me starting the comparison build.
Thanks for looking,
S

Brilliant thread!
My Meng interior set and tracks are on the way from HobbyEasy. I might post some pics if someone is interested, and with Steven's consent as it is his thread.
I have also noticed that a PE set from ROCHM is on the way for the Meng kit, and it looks pretty sweet.

Hello All,
Quick update I am working on the walls of the lower hull noted a mistake from Takom. The Atemschlauch Tube is inncorrectly moulded into the wall and that means there is no space to run the wire from the pre-engine control heater to the engine bay.
So I decided to remove and replace it, although it would have been much easier if i had done it before mounting other components.
