I have the sabingamartin.com decals for the M51 Sherman tanks in Six Days War Part 1. And the 4 subject tanks are referred to as either Type B or C. Since the the engine deck variants apparently was after this time frame, is this Type B and C referring to something other than the engine decks?
I have Volume 10 of the Lion and Lioness arriving in the mail, but not ready to lay down $120+ for the first 3 volumes in the series to get my answer.
My internet search doesn't give me any answers.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi
M51 were introduce in several types to the IDF service.
The initial one "Degem Alef" or type A was based on the M4A1 late cast hull with the original Cont. gasoline engine and deck.
Later types were with the new Diesel engines and decks.
"Degem Beth" (Type B) was with the new Diesel engine and deck and with early stowage configuration that include among others only one large stowage box on each side of the hull and spare track bracket on the front hull sides. It followed by "Degem Gimel" (Type C) that got some changes that include addition of another stowage box on each side and relocation of spare track brackets on teh turret sides. Again there were some more small changes between the types that you can clearly see and get more explanations in Vol 10 and in other volumes as well. There were additional types as will be represented in next volumes.
Hope it helps
