Ok, this has been driving me crazy, I have AFV club Churchill III with 75mm gun and the AVRE. Both painting instructions list them as painted in dark green, with no manufacturer reference. So it should be G3 right. But since churchill III was produced from end of 1942, the official color was scc2, which is a brown... So which is it? All the built up ones I've seen are a mid green, and I think i read somewhere that the Dieppe raid Churchills were brown. Can anyone shed some light?

The AVRE is likely SCC15, which replaced SCC2 from April 1944. I don't see many pics of 75mm Mk IIIs but weren't they produced in the SCC15 period? I'd need to dov through some books to check but can't do so right now.
The Dieppe raid (which included some Mk III) was in August 1942 so I think your production info may be off (other Mk III were in the desert pre-2nd Alamein too) - I have a recollection of colour photos of them showing green, implying G3/G4 rather than SCC2.
