Anyone have an opinion on which "sight" (see image) the Kuwaiti Chieftains would have had at the Battle of the Bridges:

Couldn't tell you about the battle, but one is a Muzzle Reference Sensor, and the other is not

Which, D27/D26 or H7, is the muzzle reference sensor?

D26/D27 has the sensor.

I'm for sure not an 'expert', but the admittedly somewhat limited pictures I've seen suggest the Kuwaiti Chiefs had the muzzle reference fitted, so parts D26 - D27. That's what I'm going to use on mine. Does need a careful cleanup/putty since it is in 2 parts but hey joy of modelling right? :-)

A Michael says, D26/7 is the cover for the mirror of the MRS. If you left it off you would still need to depict the forged upstand for it as this was an integral part of the muzzle of the L11A3 barrel. However, photos of the Mk 5/2K show that it was fitted, so if modelling that mark, you should install it.
I seem to recall there being no wading rail on the 5/2K, although I don't have any references to hand right now.

Ah yes, the 'forged muzzle upstand' and cover.
The 5/2K. Had the MRS fitted so yes, D26 and D27 together should be used on your model.

Is it some kind of reel for wire or hose or what not?

Yes, it's a reel for communications cable.

Don 10 twisted cable for running out a remote telephone handset connected to the radio system and intercom.
Just an observation comment here but the exhaust pipes on the rear of that Chieftain are pointed upwards? That is incorrect.
Plenty of reference pictures around to show how they should be set.

Actually the pipes are correctly fitted but the box is upside down! Note the location of the aux gen exhaust, telephone box, gravity-defying (and completely useless for its intended purpose as the barrel won't fit it) gun crutch and the fact the the top of the box is plain.
Shame, as the model is otherwise nicely done (although I don't see any Don-10 cable on the reel).
Come to that, the rear bin assemblies are on the wrong sides too....

Wasn't my build, just a convenient photo via Google.

Hah, that's a Doozie and a first. I wonder how the builder did that?
Pretty funny.
