With Trumpeters release of this kit sometime this year I was wondering if anyone knows if the Fruil Metal Tracks ATL-153 for the 2S6 TUNGUSKA will be the same type? They do share the same GM chassis but I was wondering if they were the same tracks. If they are not does anyone know of another version of Metal Tracks that would be the same? Thanks

Think they are the same. Another alternative would be Masterclub 2S3 Acacia tracks as I believe these vehicles all share the SU-100P chassis as their basis. I'm sure I'll be corrected if wrong.

However if the Trumpeter kit has similar tracks to their 2S3 I don't see any reason to replace them.

I would say, carefully, that the roadwheels and tracks are shared between:

SA-4 Krug
2S3 SPG
2S6 Tunguska
SA-15 Tor

That is the current crop of kits. HOWEVER(!) system use time-frame comes into play. The tracks on the 2S6, specifically the hollow guide horns, are pretty much only seen on it.

The "dished" roadwheels are common on the 2S6 and on the non-"early" SA-15.

SA-4 and 2S3 vehicles are almost exclusively seen with the "ribbed" (?) wheels and solid guide horn tracks. There are exceptions, but they are only 1. museum pieces that look cobbled together 2. prototype test vehicles 3. Arms Expo vehicles. There are no photos I have run across that depict either vehicle using the dished wheels or hollow guide horn track in the field.

Hope that helps.

BTW...anyone who has Trumpeter 2S3 tracks they do not want, PLEASE contact me. I will gladly take/trade for them.
