Secret for 30 years, no kit of it, and it is being retired. How did this happen.

In 2016 it was decided to finally dismantle the unit. [11] In January 2017 the unit was disbanded permanently.

This is another kit that I would LOVE to see to be released.Well with the way things are today,we just can never tell.

Indeed, this is the end for the "Pereh". After all, it was in service for over 30 years. Hopefully one of them will be displayed in Latrun soon...

Why would a company visit a site like this? They'd have to sort thru hundreds of posts on hundreds of sites to find out what people want to see in a future release. That would take time and money that they could be using to design kits. If they have a social media site that is probably the only thing they may watch. Much easier for their victims, I mean customers, to come to them and tell them what they would like to see. And if its not your style that's fine, but I for one would like to see an accurate T-80 that doesn't require a fortune spent on aftermarket parts or major corrective surgery and the only way they know is if I tell them. If they don't know what modelers want then all they do is re-release old kits with a few new parts, more Tiger II's or game based models. In fact that is probably why we have so many Tiger II's is someone asked them for one. Besides, it doesn't hurt to drop them a message, someone else may see it and think "yeah, I'd like that too", and so on. Who knows, maybe they'll listen.

I dont blaim you the modeling world is flooded with Tigers and Panthers and all those dumb what ifs from from that stupid world of tanks game, really now how many Tigers do you really need give it a rest dont you think 1 tiger in your collection is enough?

Well, accommodating you, a single, merely potential, customer in contrast to the hundreds or maybe thousands that interact with them on social media, may not be their "style".

In reality you not only want these rather small companies to spend the money to make kits of the subjects you want, you also want them to spend the money to scour the corners of the digital and physical worlds to find you in order to learn what those subjects might be. Yeah, OK . . .

How about this view I saw elsewhere: "Geez, there are so many Tiger variants, what with all the production differences, markings, and camouflage schemes, you could have a whole model collection of nothing but Tigers and none of them would be the same."

So who gets the right to tell the other guy that they are doing their hobby the wrong way?

Hey don't get me wrong, I love Tigers but at the rate they are turning kits out they will soon have a kit for every Tiger built. Not variant but for each and every 1347 Tiger I and 492 Tiger II built. In fact they are probably halfway there with the Tiger II.

Well, since not just the design, but the whole concept, was classified is it any real surprise that there was never a kit of it? Remember back when model companies were trying to get a jump on the new stealth fighter the USAF was rumored to have, and just how badly they got it wrong?

Maybe now that this is being retired, some kit maker might be able to get enough info to get something to market. At a minimum someone should be able to put out a Magach conversion.

Legend is my usual suspect when it comes to IDF conversion sets...

By the way, I wonder what the IDF will choose for its replacement. The "Pereh" is maybe gone, but I don't think the IDF will rely on sea and airborne "Spike" NLOS launch platforms only...
