Having done the usual bit, painting it all dark brown Matt Humbrol to help soak up the oils,i painted the face with a mix of Humrol flesh and brown, when dry i gave it a wash with burnt Sienna oil and let it run into all the recessed bits, the oil wash was the consistency of ink so that it was able to run,i let this dry overnight,i then drybrushed a mixture of oil paint, flesh and Burnt Sienna so that it was slightly lighter shade than the base Humbol colour,i drybrushed diagonally across the face to pick up the high points,i also did this with the face upsidedown it seems to work better, the next stage will be to go to a lighter drybrush and work on the eyes hair etc.
