Good luck finding the 70’s green uniform. Only ones I found are the guys that come in the original 577 kit, guy sitting in chair, another leaning in table. - the uniform w tucked in shirt, no cargo pockets, etc.


My biggest gripe about the ENTIRE world of 1/35 armor modeling!

Not even considering troops stationed in the US, for over THIRTY years, the US Army had about 250,000 soldiers stationed in US Army Europe (USAREUR), and there are virtually NO FIGURES available depicting the standard "fatigues/baseball caps and steel pots" etc that the US Army wore during that cold war period prior to the introduction of the Kevlar/BDU field uniforms.

Hey I get the "Cold War wasn't a "glamorous shooting war" but that is a MAJOR period of time in which virtually NO US soldiers are available in either summer or winter uniforms.

Even some early - mid Vietnam figures in the OG107 uniform would suit summer time Cold War vehicles.

Some of the Verlinden Vietnam figures have the leg trouser pockets and shirts sculpted wrong for the jungle uniform, but sculpted more correctly for the late-1970's RDF or even a weird green BDU style uniform that was worn during this period.

Although there is a great thread on the US Militaria forum about tropical (jungle) uniforms worn everywhere but Vietnam.

So, would the trousers then be considered as the Wool Zone 6 field trousers, based on the cargo pockets? The jackets appear close enough to be the M-65 field jacket. And yes, it's better than the other selection to choose from, which is really slim-to-nothin'.

DML ARVN set has three figures in the uniform you want.i have also complained for years that there aren't any good That 70s Army figures.

Others are the original Tamiya M1 Abrams TC and some of the Tamiya Israeli TCs. You can also use the Tamiya Sherman crews.

Really nice finish. Wish there was an aftermarket M577 interior as I'm no scratch builder.
