As far as I know Hobbyboss only has a 1:72 BR-52, or have they announced a 1:35 kit?

Trumpeter and Hobby Boss are more or less the same company, they use the same CAD drawings to machine parts, the same way of boxing kits, similar instruction manuals... Even some announced kits under Trumpeter saw the light of day under Hobby Boss. Trumpeter makes the 1/35 Br52, Hobby boss makes the 1/72. Check the image if you are looking online, some merchants mistakenly put the wrong scale on kits.

Hi,
Both are similar, as stated previously and do share the same flaws, but differ in scale.
The kits are nice but far from accurate. The detail (wrong or right) is nice and you will have a great model at the end. Sadly after market parts do not solve/fix many issues, especially with the frame.
While the Trumpeter kit is1/35 HobbyBoss is 1/72. CMK offers a 1/35 resin kit, but the result will be similar to the Trumpy engine.
Mind the box is huge and the mail man will hate you^^.
