Excellent work! A wonderful composition and masterful painting. The entire piece has an amazing storytelling design with such realistic painting and detailing the whole scene comes to life (and death). Well done man, well done.

Thanks kind sirs, I’d taken my eye off this thread too long as it’s had its day in the sun, but I really do appreciate you took the trouble to respond. And Colin, yeah I guess we’ve all been there – funny though, I was sure your avatar was from the Alberta badlands…somewhere near that well-known feature, the Key Butte…?

Cheers all,
Tim

Absolutely fricking amazing! I would love to be looking over your shoulder as you set it up and shoot it! Just like a real explosion. Ever think of being a Hollywood pyrotechnics advisor?
Just amazing.

Thanks again,
Ha Patrick! Had you been there you’d have probably also banged your head on the underside of the table I’d ducked under when it blew (I’d doubled the charge in an experimental 2-stage IED as prior attempts hadn’t worked, it was some Bigger Bang) and witnessed my 19 y.o. son Danny yelling “Jeez Dad not AGAIN?!” as he ran to fetch more water than I’d expected to use to douse the ensuing conflagoration. He thoroughly disapproves, understandable as he’s studying counter-terrorism at uni…I like to think I inspired him, if he goes on to save just one life it’ll all have been worth it.
The blast is from video frames, I just roll film & take cover. I doubt there are many Hollywood opportunities if Adam & Jamie are still working & besides it’s mostly CGI these days.
