I am well into my build of this kit, and so far it has been an awesome build; complex, interesting, and everything fits great, too. When done it will be a centerpiece of my collection. But, the model is gigantic! I have a Shot K'al (AFV) which is also Centurion based and it looks smaller, although I've not had them side by side. I'm thinking the Tiger kit is actually closer to 1/32 scale than 1/35. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I'm not denigrating the kit in any way; so far its one of the best I've built!

I've built the very same model ( http://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/245406&page=1 ) and at the moment I'm in the process of building AFV Club's "Shot" for the "Six Day War" campaign. I'm no expert, but the proportions look pretty similar to me...The "Nagmachon" might look bigger because it has a much thicker armor and a higher superstructure...

Measure and compare the diameter of the road wheels, or any other part which is identical on both vehicles.

Thank you for posting that; yours came out great! Robin, I'll try measuring; the road wheels did look large. You're right that its much taller than normal. I got to the tough part last night; filling the ejector pin marks on the rear skirt armor. I've already painted the lower hull/running gear; I'm going to paint the doghouse and upper hull as two parts, and also paint sprue F separately and install the bar armor last. Would you agree with that plan, Israel?

In reply to the point above, definitely don't measure the road wheels! Nags, Pumas etc were often refitted with the smaller Merkava wheels. Without getting mine down from the stash top shelf to check, I believe the Tiger kit does indeed have Merkava wheels: open to correction.
I've got some 1979 vintage Sh'ot plans from the old Israeli magazine series Born In Battle. Can't testify to their accuracy. Those suggest that the "wheelbase" between idler and sprocket centres should be 6.5m amd the width between track centres 2.7m. Stand fast idler adjustment, those will be common dimensions. Overall length from the point of the glacis (without applique or ERA) to the point of the lower rear hull plate, where the angle changes, is 7.35m.
I've annotated the plans somewhere in the past to say they scale out at 1/33. At that scale the idler-sprocket "wheelbase" is 196mm. Converting to 1/35 makes it about 185mm. At 1/32 it would be about 203mm.

Thanks Peter,
Larger numeric values (bigger things) make the measurements more accurate. The "wheel base" sounds like a very good distance to measure and compare :-)

Absolutely! I've followed a similar sequence. Whenever it's possible, I like to work in sub-assemblies. Take good care while working with the slat-armor, it takes some patience to get them aligned properly.

With out technical data ie measurements and scale drawings I think it looks right comparatively speaking.
I can see the concern the gun tank is basicky naked in terms of detail and with no tracks it's even more deceiving, I would imagine the nagmachon would be sitting lower with all the extra armour.
Any way nice model mate.
Cheers Ben.
