Trying to id what type of Bradley and then what kit options for a club build. The gentleman belonged to the 1/120 IN that was in Iraq (2004,2009). I think these photos are all from the 2004 deployment.

If someone can figure the rest of the letter jumbo on the left that would be great. I think the last to lines are shipping/storage info but not 100% sure.

I guess your best option for a kit is the MENG M2A3 or M3A3 kit minus the CITV at the rear of the turret. The latter has the correct rear stowage boxes. The former has the right ERA tiles for the glacis. But I think this is an easy fix from the M3A3 kit.

Can't realy tell if it is an M2 or M3 with out looking at ht erear troop cargo hatch. I realy want to say it is a M2A2 ODS Bradley. If that is the case. I would go woth these two:

Academy M2A2 Bradley OIF

Legand Productions M2 Bradley ERA set

In my opinion, this will be your best option. You would have to get the bustle rack from a Tamiya kit or Academy kit to replace the MENG A3 bustle rack.

Meng M3A3 Bradley w/BUSK III

WPJMC00016 would be the whole number and most of the time it would be found on the front/center and the rear on the upper part of the ramp.

It is a pre-position ID number.

Thanks for the info above.

So his vehicle pic1 would have 31. Then < , does that change on the other side so the point is always forward? What is the last character, H?

I agree with Pete. It looks like an M2A2 ODS to me too. The Meng kit is an M2A3 and is very different than an M2A2 ODS. I would use the Academy M2A2 OIF kit and add ERA tiles to it to get what you see pictured.

If you really want to make an M2A2 ODS out of the Meng M2A3 kit, you can see what it takes to backdate it here. It is mainly having to remove added armor plates to the hull, using the older, smaller gunner's sight box, reworking the turret rear and basket, etc., etc., etc...

Also, your initial pic with all the "smiley faces" is definitely from '04. After APR 30 '08, the only authorized uniform was UCP ACUs (gray/green digital pattern). The DCUs and woodland camo IBAs in that pic were no longer authorized for wear in '09.

So the if the rear bumper codes are:

30 BDE
1-120-I
WPJMC
00016

178
C-31

Would the front look like this? The pic isn't clear and they are probably covered with dirt/sand.
left
30 BDE
1-120-I

center
WPJMC

For ease of the club build we would probably go with the Academy kit. Will look for the era blocks. A club member does have the Orochi kit. Can the era blocks be used for this build?

It is just a unit identifier assigned probably from the BDE. Each unit had different numbers so you know who the vehicle belongs to at a distance.

Yes, you have the right config for the front.

The center would probably be all on one line though: WPJMC00016

Yes, the Orochi ERA would be fine on the Academy M2A2 OIF kit.

Outstanding. Thanks.

For Academy kit I have seen boxing that says Iraq 2003 and OIF both for kit number 13205. Is the plastic the same?

As we are moving forward with this project, what figure/s would be appropriate for the 2004 deployment?

Depends on what the figures will be of; crew for the Brad, or dismounts around it?

Since they would still be wearing DCUs in '04, these would be good for the crew.

Nemrod M2 Crew (35202)

Dragon US Tank Crew (3020)
