Looking for feedback, tips and constructive criticism. First kit in 20+ years, decided to get back into as it was something I enjoyed growing up. Fond memories of my grandfather taking me to the hardware-hobby shop when we visited, then sitting with him for hours.
Grabbed the Tamiya 35020 kit, cheap and a good starter to work on skills. Fairly straight forward, but the axle road wheels assembly is wonky at best.
- Will likely order some different tracks, because the rubber band tracks are total crap imo.
- I think I enjoyed the painting of the figures so far the most.
- Just applied decals tonight, so dull cote tomorrow then more weathering.
I applied a wash early out of curiosity to see how it would look. More of a filter though as it's all over and not a pin wash. Also did some dry brush primarily on the interior to depict dirt and grime.
Will do some rust and chip weathering to test that out and learn how it works next. Still have to order some mud and grime for final weathering. Using this really as a kit to try different techniques to see how the new products and paints work.
