I believe this is the vehicle Ian is looking for. (Much more interesting than its' US equivalent as the unit built for the British includes the sleeper cab and rear fenders!) Unfortunately I do not have any drawings of this variant.

Another question: Does the rear axle steer as on the US equivalent? With the Oshkosh TAK-4 suspension units you can really have it any way you want it???

Don't bother with details

Here are some drawings for the "standard" Mk31 tractor truck variant :

Just a small comment - front windows on armored cab Mk23 are smaller and also angled, more like your side windows are. Otherwise it's looking good!

it would be fab to see a british one of this, iv got a walk around pics but it will take a lot of cutting as it is not totally the same size as the us one.

I agree it would be great to have a British semi-tractor. I've been thinking I might need to build just one more of these!

I don't think it would involve too much cutting. Two cuts to get the frame to the right length. Maybe a third to shorten the rear of the frame. Then of course cut the rear out of the cab and extend the cab body.

I talked to a gal at Oshkosh and she said some of the semi-tractors are built using a more "standard" style of air bag rear suspension. I have however found a few photos on line of the British semi-tractor and there are definitely hints of the TAK-4 suspension in the rear.

However I think these trucks might have been assembled or at least finished in Ireland.

Just found the Oshkosh flyer on the wheeled tractor and it says that on the tractor they use the TAK-4 front and rear. On the tanker trailer it says they employ the BPW air suspension.

there are some pictures of the armoured cab in tankograd 9009, pages 49 to 56, the last picture has some of the 5 wheel on show showing the under side joint.
