Hi guys, quick question regarding the counterweight on the barrel of the rocket launcher of the tamiya Sturmtiger. Which would be the better option?
A) putting on the irregular shaped design or
B) going with just the four-small block pieces?
I have just finished putting zimmerit on mine and am proceeding with the interior as of the moment. Anything else I should look out for aside from the counterweight choice? Thanks in advance.

There is no 'better' option. It's like asking whether it is 'better' to fit Schuerzen to a Panther or not.
As only 18 were made, I'd pick a known example and depict that. You can obviously do otherwise as it's your model though.

When I built mine a while back, I went with just the mounting lugs, but that was purely my personal preference. I think they look interesting with the counterweight though. If I build another, I'd probably make it with the counterweight. As has been mentioned, look up a specific vehicle and go from there! Otherwise, build it however you like it and enjoy!

I've been trying to look for a photo of one with the counterweight as included in the pic - but the only one that surfaced had bolted-on frontal plate and rubber rimmed roadwheels. The rest of the lot seem to have either no counter-weight or a purely circular one in place. Hence the question. If nothing pops up - I'll be going with what's on the boxart as I have seen at least two photos depicting that configuration. I like the look of the bulky irregular counterweight but was wondering if it was a one-off thing added to very few of the 18 produced.

The Kubinka vehicle has the irregular counterweight as included in the Tamiya kit, and also has steel wheels.
