heres my achilles,

its the AFV club kit, built OOB, other than i swapped the kits rubber block tracks with some 3-bar cleats and replaced the incorrect ammo with AA resin 17 pdr rounds

the model was painted and finished without the use of an airbrush, as mine is broken!
the base coat of OD was spray painted using tamiya OD, oversprayed with OD2, the mickey mouse camo was brush painted on using humbrol enamels. an oil paint wash and mig pigments followed. i used my new calibre 35 resin bootstamps on the model, being visble on the front hull plate and rear deck

the vehicle represents a 30 corps achilles during the market garden operation

scratchbuilt drivers controls are invisible on the finnished model, d'oh!

tow cables, more stowage and figures will be added at a later stage

The only thing I might suggest is to add some foil retaining straps for the ammo in the turret... other than that.... can't see anything else I would change at all :-)

This is especially impressive, considering your airbrush problem - I wish I could make do with brushes as well as you have done - excellent work!

Looks really good, and the weathering is especially realistic. The turret interior seems very clean in comparrison. It could do with some weathering to show the same wear and tear as the outside. Nice one

the turret interior was treated with the pigments too, and had footprints on the seats and turret side ledges, it doesnt show up in the pics too well though

One thing if I might add is not the Turret interior,should this not be painted in OD Green?
don't have much facts on the Achilles!
But on my M-10 I am slapping the Green to her.

you are correct about the M10's, but british vehicles were often repainted.

most achilles OD turret interiors, but according to a relative who served in the guards armoured, they repainted them, including the gun. so thats what i went with.
