Ola People

When we arrived at Hotel hartenstein During our RMG Fieldtrip we stumbled accross these magnificent machines..... Actually we didn`t stumble over it but they simply stood there :-) :-) .
Enough talk
The M4A4 Sherman Walkaround is the biggest one and counts 47 Pictures covering every detail of the tank. Some samples:

Thanks to Hollowpoint for pointing out that this is a M4A4 Sherman. by the way. The Tanker on top of the tank is Wouter (APBullet) of Armorama :-) :-) )

More and better pics can be found under this link:
RMG FIELDTRIP walkaround: Sherman

Next thing is the mighty 17 pounder AT gun. Did also quite a complete walkaround of this gun (37 pictures) and every corner is covered.

More and better pics can be found under this link:
RMG FIELDTRIP Walkaround: 17 Pounder AT gun

I hope you all like them and that they could come in Handy for someone building one of the machines/vehicles. And if somebody knows the sherman type please post it then I change it in the post :-) :-) :-)

Nice pics, Robert! That's an M4A4, by the way.

I especially like the close-ups you got of the foundry markings.

Ola Guys

I like that they are appreciated and I hope they will be usefull for many.
Hollowpoint thanks for pointing out the Shermans Type.

Joe. I have shot and posted a lot of Walkarounds till now. These were only the two types of machines that were around the Hartenstein Hotel. So far I had only seen 1 Sherman and 3 17 pounder howitzers.

More Walkarounds I did in the past:
T55 Walkaround
GMC 2,5 ton walkaround (several vehicles)
Walkarounds of several vehicles in the Wings Of Liberation museum

Howdy FAUST (and APBullet ),

Your Sherman / 17pdr pics are superb! You have a knack for taking pics of just the right details (and with great lighting!). Must admit also, to at least a wee bit of jealousy about your Hartenstein visit (I wish I was there! ).
Glad you had fun, and again, thx for the photos.

Tread.

Phantom,
Yes we most certainly went into the "house", actually it is a former Hotel with the Poetic name of Hartenstein, and houses indeed the Airborne Museum, and yes the map with the lights is still there.

Yeah I used some extensive picture taking techniques here. Taking your 2 year old digital camera without zoom running around and climbing on the tank with the use of absolutely natural lighting provided by the sun. Not really knowing what Sherman fans would appreciate I just took pics of everything that was on it. :-) :-) :-) Quite some expert here Ey

Golikell already answered your question actually. Yes we did visit the Hotel Hartenstein (Former british headquarters during Market Garden now the Airborne Museum. Sadly here my 2 year old camera did not came in use as everything was behind glass and the device is not that suffisticated Pics that I took during my visit of the Airborne Museum can be found here

I would point out that the 17 pounder is not a howitzer, but an antitank gun, you will note that it is meant to be fired using a flat trajectory.
Regards,
Paul.
